A Word From Our Founders

Welcome to Lorato House. Thank you for taking the time to learn about our home, our children, and the vision that has shaped this ministry for many years.

Lorato House began as a vision God placed in our hearts, a calling to create a place where vulnerable children could find safety, unconditional love, and the chance to heal. The word Lorato means love in Setswana, and love remains the foundation of everything we do.

How Steady Care Helps Children Move Forward

Every child needs safety, nourishment, education, health support, and steady care.
Lorato House brings these together in a protective home environment where children can grow with dignity and stability.

24-Hour Protection and Care

Children live in a safe residential environment with trained caregivers present around the clock.

Nourishment and Essentials

Meals, clean water, clothing, hygiene support, laundry, and daily routines help create stability.

Education and Development

Children receive early learning, school support, life skills, and age-appropriate development opportunities.

Health and Specialist Support

Nutrition, medical support, therapy where available, and attention to each child’s wellbeing.

Programmes

Child Protection Reaches Beyond the Home

Beyond residential care, Lorato House is deeply engaged in community advocacy and outreach, equipping families and communities to move from crisis to stability through awareness programmes and empowerment initiatives.

Early Identification and Emergency Response: the Centre provides preventive and early intervention services to reduce child vulnerability, strengthen families, and respond to emergency child protection cases.

Sponsor a Child

A Private Pathway to Steady, Ongoing Support

Child sponsorship helps provide consistent care for children at Lorato House through a safeguarding-first process. Sponsors do not browse public child profiles. Instead, the Lorato House team manages matching privately and shares approved updates with care and discretion.

1. Choose to Sponsor

Start with a monthly sponsorship commitment that supports care at Lorato House.

2. The Team Follows Up

Lorato House manages matching privately and confirms next steps with each sponsor.

3. Receive Approved Updates

Sponsors receive updates through a privacy-conscious process that protects each child’s identity and story.
